Artisanal Imports 7/11

saison-332x331.png

Artisan Imports

Artisanal Imports, Inc. was formed by Lanny Hoff and Bob Leggett in 2001. With a background in specialty beer importing, Hoff's role was to develop a network of distributors in the Eastern half of the United States to augment a network that Leggett, heading up a sister company called Manneken-Brussel, had cultivated in the West.

In 2004 Leggett, having sold his interest in Manneken-Brussel, joined Hoff full time and expanded the sales and marketing territory for Artisanal Imports to include the entire US. At that time the office in Austin, Texas was assembled with full-time staff to support sales efforts and a Western US sales office was opened by Sean Knoll in Colorado, with the aim of providing the same type of sales support for Western distributors that Hoff had been offering to the Eastern market.

Since 2004, Artisanal Imports has grown, adding full time administrative staff as well as sales and marketing personnel. Brokers in key markets as well as dedicated employees have joined the effort to provide top-quality support and to ensure share-of-mind with our distribution partners.

Woodchuck Cider Tasting 7/12

wood.jpg

"A long time ago, way back in 1990, there was a little winery in the town of Proctorsville, Vermont. Back then, we made our living producing a variety of apple wines, something not many wineries do. We also made a little cider called “Vermont Old-Fashioned Hard Cider” – not the most catchy name, yet pretty darn appropriate. It may sound hard to believe, but when you spend 22 years crafting cider it becomes more than just a job.  We like to think of ourselves as modern day craftsmen, and we believe in what we do.  So while most of our bigger competitors spend a lot of time and money on all of the things that go on outside their bottles (advertisements, promotions, Clydesdales) the hundred or so of us here in Middlebury will just keep focusing on what goes on inside our bottles."

Golden Valley Tasting 7/17

valley.jpg

Golden Valley opened their first location in the heart of Oregon’s Wine Country in McMinnville, OR back in 1993. Nineteen years in business is very impressive and makes it one of Oregon’s longest running operating breweries. During this time they have gone through a few brewers but their current brewer, Mark Vickery, has been with them for over the past decade. Prior to joining Golden Valley, Mark spent time learning the ropes at Bridgeport Brewing while studying at PSU. He then went on to Bend, OR to become John Harris’ assistant at the Deschutes Brew Pub. During these ten years at Deschutes, Mark assisted in the development of some of the Deschutes beers that continue to be enjoyed today.

Tasting starts at 5pm!  Be there or be square

North West Brewing 7/18

beernorthwest.jpg

A taste of Northwest Brewing Company's beers is akin to a trip around the world. The brewery, formerly Trade Route Brewing Company, finds inspiration in the trade routes of old, which is why its brewmaster incorporate exotic ingredients such as ginger when crafting each batch with time-honored brewing methods. These eclectic flavors beget distinctive beers, such as the Mango Weizen, which stirs taste buds with Nugget hops and mango puree, and the Local Ink which has Aromatic, Dextrapils, Chocolate, Crystal, Munich, and Roasted Barley malts and is bittered with Magnum. Not content to keep their flavors in liquid form, Northwest Brewing Company also slings a menu of gastropub cuisine– including BBQ from Brank's, gourmet pizzas and cheese-slathered pasta dishes– backed by live music every Saturday night.

Merchant Du Vin Tasting 6/26

merchant1-1.jpg

ss-organic-fruit-beer

Specialty beer importer Merchant du Vin was founded in 1978, a time when Americans could not buy the world's classic beer styles - in fact, unless they had travelled to Europe most Americans had never even heard of pale ale, hefeweizen, or Trappist ale. MdV founder Charles Finkel realized that the flavors found in the great beers of England, Germany and Belgium were a universal pleasure that should be available to all adults.

The goal of Merchant du Vin is to enhance people's lives via the unmatched aromas and flavors found in great beer. Merchant du Vin's selling proposition is to educate the consumer and arouse curiosity as to the differences among the classic beer styles, and to make these beers available for purchase at stores, restaurants, and bars. Merchant du Vin's portfolio of beers comes from the nations with deep, rich brewing traditions: England, Scotland, Germany, and Belgium.

ACE hard ciders are great refreshment, chilled on their own and elegant enough to bring to the dinner table, pour in your favorite glass and have with a variety of meals.

EPIC TASTING! 6/28

epic-brewing.jpg

Epic is Utah’s first brewery since prohibition to brew exclusively high alcohol content beer. Epic handcrafts and carefully bottles its unique product in 22-ounce bottles, perfect for sharing or a long savor, solo style.

Epic-Spotlight-kevin-Robie

David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.

Together, they have teamed with Brewmaster Kevin Crompton, formerly from Bohemian Brewery. Crompton has been brewing for more than 20 years (since 1994) and has brewed for three Utah breweries and another in Hawaii.

Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies and "Epic" adventure junkies, the three share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

At Fish Tale we believe that fresh beer, fine food and hearty friendships are what the Cascadian life is all about. It's an honor being part of this happy heritage. We welcome you to share in it with us.

With only the finest Northwest ingredients we create full bodied and delicious finishing lagers that stand apart in the craft ale world.
