Brew with the Brewer!

Uptown Market  & Widmer Brothers Brewing Team Up for the Ultimate Homebrew Clone Experience!

On Saturday, April 14 Uptown Market  is excited to host a special brewing education event with Widmer Brother’s Brewer Ben Dobler and Jacob Leonard. In this special 4 hour session Ben and Jacob will demonstrate how to make Widmer Pitch Black IPA, while guests ask questions and the West side’s favorite new bottle and homebrew shop pours samples. Everyone is welcome, from the never-brewed beer drinker, to the expert home brewer. We will brew a clone of Widmer’s Pitch Black IPA and guests will be able to enjoy Pitch Black IPA while they learn how it is made, what is made from and be able to ask the brewer himself any questions that cross their mind. Brew with the Brewer is scheduled to begin at 2 pm Saturday, April 14th and is FREE to the public!

We are going to have all of our 6 taps full of Widmer Beer!  One of the beers is going to be the collaboration that Uptown Market participated on at the Pilot System at the Rose Quarter.  We will have their Spiced IPA, Drifter, Alt, Dark Saizon and of course the Pitch Black on tap as well.

Herb Apon Artist Thursday March 1st, 2012 will be the inaugural first Thursday at Uptown Market.  We are going to strive to provide artists a venue to display their art each first Thursday of the month to mirror the event that happens in the pearl district downtown.  This particular event is going to showcase the art of Todd Herman, a comic artist in the local Portland community.  Todd's art is normally featured in comic books but has a portfolio that will be revealed and available for sale on March 1st.

Along with the Art we are also going to be doing a Stock your Cellar event.  This is a special event in which our wine distributor, Young's Market, is going to come out and taste some exceptional wines.  As part of the promotion we are going to offer case sales at 10% markup on cost to be delivered to Uptown Market.

Dion Winery has also elected to participate in this event and will be here to taste their Pinot Noir selection.  Dion Winery is a local winery that is self distributed locally and made locally.

David HIll Winery will also be present to taste some of their great wines.

This event is going to be a great chance to see some wonderful exciting art as well as taste some great wine.  Join us Thursday, March 1, 2012 for this event.  Scheduled to start at 6:00 pm.
